Eric Bana (Hulk, Troy) to be the new James Bond?

Not final yet, but it is being reported that Eric Bana is supposedly in negotiations to be the new James Bond.

Personally I won't really believe it until it's official, but what are everyone's thoughts on him possibly taking over the role?

Well, the Austrailian accent is close enough.

I would liked to have seen Clive Owen come into the role as he was on their cosideration list, but it isn't really like I watch the Bond movies anyway.

I think the only one I have seen was the first one Pierce Brosnan was in, Goldeneye I think.

Clive night have gotten me to watch them, but doubt I will if ana gets it - I'd be waiting in anticipation for the "Bond smash puny man" line to crop up! [img]wink.gif[/img]

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I totally agree about Brosnan. Allowing of course that Connery is, was, and always will be the Bond, Brosnan runs a very close second. I have serious doubts about Bana..... though he isn't as bad as some of the other dinks I have heard rumored. [img]confused.gif[/img]

Brosnan was my favorite Bond (after Connery) but if he's calling it quits, they could do much worse than Bana. I think he's a very good actor and could play the part well.
